Our aim within our In-formal Curriculum is to provide children and young people with complex needs to learn how to safely navigate the world with as much independence as possible, promoting communication positive interactions and emotional and sensory regulation.
The provision is personalised to each pupil, centred on what the child needs, knows and can do. Each child has Personal Learning Goals (PLGs), derived from a variety of sources (EHCP, the assessment circle and professional reports).
Personal Learning Goals (PLGs) are woven into the termly planning. Each term has a topic. Topics are chosen to provide context and are relating to real life events.
Term 1: Changes
Term 2: Celebrations
Term 3: Entertainment
Term 4: Food
Term 5: The Outside World
Term 6: Water
Each child has an Engagement Profile and a What Matters to Me document to ensure personalised learning and provision and activities that are motivational and purposeful for each pupil.
A knowledge organiser is shared each term with the areas of learning with families via Dojo.
