Our Pre-formal curriculum is individual for each child and is centred around their needs. This is determined through the Personal Learning Goals (PLGs) and stems from the EHCP and assessment circle.
This ensures the child’s curriculum offer is tailored and specific. Each child has a ‘Pick and Mix’ and this outlines the learning opportunities that will be offered/experienced each term.
The PLG and ‘Pick and Mix’ is
shared with families via ClassDojo.
‘Pick and Mix’ is reviewed 3 times a year as topics/themes change each big term:
Term 1: Me and My World.
Term 2: My Favourite Things.
Term 3: The Great Outdoors (including farm and rural activities).
Alongside the Pick and Mix and PLGs each child has an Engagement Profile and a What Matters to me document to ensure personalised learning and provision and activities that are motivational and purposeful for each pupil
(for examples of these documents see the pre-formal handbook below).
